BEN 5500 Portable Multi-Function Fault Recorder

The NEW BEN 5500 Portable "Power Consultant" from LEM Instruments is the evolution of the industry leading technology found in the BEN 5000 DFR.

A single handed strategy for reliable power system fault analysis, ideal for emergency or temporary field situations requiring absolute reliability and dependability.

Ruggedized and ready with 16 analog and 16 digital channels, the BEN 5500 withstands isolation and immunity of fixed installed systems in a manageable 11" x 18.5" x 18.9", 46 lb. package.

Versatile and flexible the BEN 5500 can be configured as a Dynamic Swing Monitor (DSM) allowing any combination of inputs to create derived quanities for triggering long duration records of a month's traces independently from triggering conditions.

Power Quality can be profiled from the connected signals and automatically converted in your PC with BEN32 software to COMTRADE format, cross triggering capability of the BEN 5500 allows fast (DFR) and/or slow (DSM) recordings of power quality events simplifying event origin.

Ready for the Road

Voltage and current connections are made quick and simple to front mounted banana terminals, attach low phase shift LEM clamp-on CT's or installed CT's input to the optional shunt box which provides integrity for CT circuits.

Operate horizontally or vertically the BEN 5500 is a space saver, and is equipped to receive external synchronization signals and command four relay outputs.

The banana type connections accommodate voltages or currents through the optional shunt box (with ring lug type terminals for CT circuit integrity) or clamp-on CT's.
