ITM 505 and ITM 507 Transformer Monitors - Product Obsolescence Notice and Transition Guidance
We are formally notifying customers that the ITM505 and ITM507 transformer monitors have been discontinued. Effective December 31, 2026, Qualitrol will no longer sell ITM505 or ITM507 units, and components specific to these products will no longer be available for sale.
The ITM505 and ITM507 transformer monitors are advanced solutions for transformer condition monitoring, thermal management, and asset performance optimization.
What Happened
This discontinuation was driven by component obsolescence, making continued production of the ITM505 and ITM507 no longer possible.
Qualitrol has secured a final supply of components and has a limited quantity of finished units available to support the installed base. Final orders may be placed through December 31st, 2026, or until available inventory is depleted, whichever occurs first.
Component-driven obsolescence is an increasingly common challenge across the industrial instrumentation sector. When a critical upstream component reaches end-of-life, it can force product discontinuations regardless of the end product's performance or market demand.
Recommended Alternative: ITM509
We are offering the ITM509 as a close alternative for customers transitioning away from the ITM505 and ITM507. The ITM509 is an advanced transformer monitor for medium and large transformers, offering real-time diagnostics, control, and predictive analytics for oil-filled transformer systems.
Please note that the ITM509 is not a fit, form, or function replacement for the ITM505 or ITM507. Differences in tolerance, construction, pressure range, wiring, installation requirements, and application fit should be evaluated before making procurement or installation decisions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the ITM505 and ITM507 being discontinued?
The ITM505 and ITM507 are being discontinued due to component obsolescence. This decision is not related to product performance or market demand; in the near future production will no longer be possible because critical upstream components have reached end-of-life.
Is the ITM509 being discontinued?
No. The ITM509 is not being discontinued and is not part of the ITM505 and ITM507 end-of-sale notice. The ITM509 remains available as a current transformer monitoring solution and may be considered as an alternative for certain applications. However, it is not a direct fit, form, or function replacement for the ITM505 or ITM507, so application requirements should be reviewed before selecting it.
When is the last date to place an order?
Final orders may be placed through December 31, 2026, or until available inventory is depleted, whichever occurs first. Orders will be subject to remaining finished-unit availability.
Are replacement units still available?
A limited quantity of finished ITM505 and ITM507 units are available to support the installed base. Availability is limited and will be managed on a first-come, first-served basis until inventory is depleted. Any ITM505 or ITM507 unit covered under an active warranty will continue to be honored in accordance with Qualitrol’s standard warranty terms. If a replacement ITM505 or ITM507 is no longer available, Qualitrol will collaborate directly with the customer to evaluate an appropriate solution, which may include the ITM509 where suitable.
Can customers still get support for installed ITM505/ITM507 units?
Yes. Qualitrol will continue to support customers with installed ITM505 and ITM507 units through available documentation, technical support, and transition guidance where applicable.
Is the ITM509 a direct replacement for the ITM505 or ITM507?
No. The ITM509 is not a direct fit, form, or function replacement for the ITM505 or ITM507. It may be a suitable alternative for certain applications, but each installation should be reviewed to confirm suitability.
What should customers evaluate before switching to the ITM509?
Customers should review tolerance, construction, pressure range, wiring, installation requirements, physical configuration, and overall application fit before selecting the ITM509 as an alternative.
Who should customers contact for transition support?
Customers should contact Qualitrol through the contact form or by emailing info@qualitrolcorp.com. Our applications engineering team can help review application requirements.
Will pricing or lead time change during the transition period?
Pricing and lead times may vary depending on remaining inventory, order timing, and transition requirements. Customers should confirm availability, pricing, and lead time with Qualitrol before placing an order.
Can existing specifications or drawings be reused for the ITM509?
Existing ITM505 or ITM507 specifications and drawings should not be reused for the ITM509 without review. Customers should confirm technical and installation requirements with Qualitrol before updating specifications or ordering replacement equipment.
What happens if inventory is depleted before December 31, 2026?
If inventory is depleted before December 31, 2026, Qualitrol will no longer be able to accept additional ITM505 or ITM507 orders. Customers should contact Qualitrol as early as possible to review available options and transition planning.
Can customers continue using installed ITM505 and ITM507 units?
Yes. Installed ITM505 and ITM507 units may continue to be used if they remain suitable for the application and are operating as intended. Customers should continue following the applicable product documentation and maintenance practices for their installed equipment.
Should customers place orders early?
Yes because availability is limited, customers who need replacement units or final purchases should place orders as early as possible. Orders are subject to remaining inventory and cannot be guaranteed once inventory is depleted.
What information should customers provide when requesting transition support?
Customers should provide the current product model, serial number (if available), application details, installation requirements, drawings, or specifications if available, and operating conditions. This information will help Qualitrol determine whether the ITM509 or another product may be suitable.
